  • Dr. Jared Weller, DVM

Dr. Weller is from the great state of Indiana, having grown up on a Green Acre Farm (literally).  It was a family farm that stressed the virtues of hard work and dedication.

Dr. Weller attended Saint Joseph's College in Indiana on a cross-country scholarship and Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine.  It was there he met his wife, Dr. Sarah Weller, in anatomy class.  Dr. Weller worked both livestock and companion animals until 2014, when he decided to focus exclusively on small animals.

In his free time, Jared and Sarah and their growing family enjoy being outdoors swimming, hiking and exploring.  He reports their children have endless imaginations.
  • Dr. Zach Smith, DVM

Dr. Smith is Ohio native, coming from a small town in the center of the state.  Dr. Smith grew up raising beef cattle that installed a life long desire to be a veterinarian.  He earned his DVM at Ross University with additional training at Iowa State.  He joined the practice in 2015.

Dr. Smith is a talented clinician who sees both companion and large animal patients with equal skill and humor.  He has also done an outstanding job with staff training and procedures that contribute to improve customer service.

  • Dr. Erica Knowlton, DVM

Dr. Knowlton is the newest addition to the professional staff, joining us in December 2018.  She is a Sparta native, from the family dairy west of town.  This is actually her second position with the practice, having worked here as kennel help with she was young.

Dr. Knowlton graduated from Michigan State with her DVM in 2013.  Since that time, she has practiced in the upper peninsula doing largely companion animal work.  She has a ready smile, skill and compassion for her patients.

Erica and her husband, Aaron, are still settling back into the area with their two young daughters.  She enjoys being back home near family and picking up life from where it left off.
